New, dedicated town centre teams for Holborn & Bloomsbury, Camden Town, and Kilburn are hitting the streets in Camden.

Camden Labour’s £1 million investment in Community Safety at our 2026 Budget has created brand new teams focussing on our busiest town centres in Camden to tackle antisocial behaviour, drug activity, environmental and retail crime.

Bringing the total number of Community Safety Enforcement Officers to 50, these new teams will provide a visible deterrent and reassurance to residents and businesses.

Community Safety Enforcement Officers have a broad range of powers and can issue fines for offences such as alcohol-related anti-social behaviour, illegal street trading, and fly-tipping.

An additional 20 Community Safety Enforcement Officers will be tasked with patrols in the north of Camden.

Councillor Adam Harrison, Cabinet Member for Safer Communities said:

“We’re committed to making Camden a safer place for everyone. We know that issues such as antisocial behaviour and fly-tipping have a serious impact on anyone living, visiting, or working in Camden – and I’m delighted to welcome more officers to deter offenders, work with our community partners, and take action.

Not only will you see our new town centre teams patrolling hotspot areas, but this investment means more officers will be visible across the whole borough to support residents with anything they are concerned about.”

Anyone concerned about antisocial behaviour is encouraged to report issues online or call 020 7974 4444. In an emergency, call 999.
